a town for the elderly at heart

Vintonland is an area of southwest Virginia anchored by the Town of Vinton and its outer boroughs of Roanoke, Salem, and Daleville.
A Good Place to Live And Do Business
It can be truthfully said that Vinton is the beneficiary of much careful planning on the part of the Great Architect of the Universe.
An Exit Ramp to Remember
The Blue Ridge Parkway is 469 miles long and eleven million people drive it every year. At Milepost 112, Route 24 descends directly into Vinton. One of only eight Virginia exits on the entire Parkway.
Technically, a Lake Exists
The Niagara Dam, built downstream of town in 1906, holds back the Roanoke River into a 62-acre reservoir some maps are generous enough to call a lake. Its two 1.2-megawatt turbines make it the smallest hydroelectric plant Appalachian Power still operates in Virginia.
